Description

A hearty and comforting ground beef casserole with layers of seasoned beef, thinly sliced potatoes, and melted cheese. It’s easy to make and perfect for a quick family dinner or meal prep!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 large potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • ½ cup milk (optional)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • Cook the beef: Sauté onion and garlic in olive oil, then brown the ground beef. Drain excess fat and season with spices.
  • Layer the casserole: Spread cooked beef in the baking dish, then arrange sliced potatoes on top.
  • Add cheese & broth: Sprinkle cheddar and Parmesan over potatoes, then pour beef broth around the edges. Drizzle milk for extra creaminess.
  • Bake covered: Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  • Uncover & bake more: Remove foil and bake for another 15-20 minutes, until potatoes are tender and cheese is golden brown.
  • Garnish & serve: Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes, then sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve hot.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, broil the casserole for 2 minutes before serving.
  • Make it spicy by adding red pepper flakes or jalapeños to the beef.
  • Swap protein with ground turkey or chicken for a leaner version.
